The Message-Intercept Base was the base of the Blacktron faction released in 1988. The set contained the base, a small spaceship, a rover and 5 Blacktron spacemen. It was made up of three sections, the control room, the observation post and the landing area for the small spaceship. The base had many features, such as scanners, lasers, and the landing pad could be opened up to make easy access for the landing and departing spacecraft. The set contained 562 pieces and was around £45.00 when it was released (shown on a 1988 UK catalog page).
